TERMS OF CHARTER 2017

Hire/Charter Terms for the vessel "ELECTRIC BLUE"

  1. INTRODUCTION.

The following sets out the terms and conditions under which the vessel "ELECTRIC BLUE" may be chartered. This document forms an agreement between "ELECTRIC BLUE FISHING CHARTERS." (the owner) and the club or individual/s hiring the vessel (the charterer's).

  2. THE VESSEL.

The owner Capt. Tony ALLEN will make available the vessel "ELECTRIC BLUE", licensed by the STATE, insured and carrying regulation safety equipment as set out by the USCG. The vessel will also carry a USCG Captain & and a crew member when appropriate. The vessel will also have the appropriate NOAA Fishing Permit for the Atlantic Ocean which covers all anglers on board.

  3. ACCOMMODATION.

We do not endorse any particular accommodation. Any accommodation must be reserved directly by the charterer's with the HOTEL/GUEST HOUSE concerned and as such "ELECTRIC BLUE" are not involved in reservation of rooms etc.

  4. PAYMENT.

Payment can be made by Cash of Credit Card.

  5. SIZE OF PARTY.

Our OUVP 6 pack uninspected vessel license restricts us to a maximum of 6 passengers plus two crew. These limits will not be exceeded under any circumstances. If you find that your party is depleted, let us know in good time & we will try to help you make up the numbers. Please remember that the charter cost is for the boat & the charterer's are responsible for the full fee, regardless of how many people are on board.

  6. WEATHER.

Every Charter Captain's single biggest problem is the weather. However in Florida this is not usually the case unless we have a Hurricane forecast.

For single day charters, please call us on Mobile (312) 330-6689 daytime and in the evening prior to the trip to check conditions. For multiple day charters, please call us on your arrival.

We acquire weather information from a number of sources; shipping forecast, inshore forecast, internet buoy data, TV etc., and use it in deciding whether or not to sail. Intelligent interpretation of the best data available does not guarantee a correct decision; the owner cannot be held responsible if the charterer's have a wasted journey.

  7. CANCELLATION.
  • If the owner cancels the charter due to adverse weather conditions, problems with the boat, illness or indisposition on the owner's part or Captain's part, no boat charter fee is payable & the full deposit is returnable if one was paid.

  • If deteriorating weather conditions force an early return to port, only that portion of the trip spent at sea is chargeable, with any part of an hour counting as 1 hour. It is the discretion of the skipper if no charge is levied.

  • A decision to return early to port is the Captain's & his alone. A return at the insistence of the anglers qualifies as a complete trip & the full fee is payable.

  • Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice or No-shows will be billed on your credit card at FULL PRICE!
NO EXCEPTIONS. WE DO NOT TAKE DEPOSITS BUT REQUIRE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER IN ADVANCE. Your card will not be billed until the day of the event.

  • If a charter is cancelled due to an airline weather problem, we will honor this position and there will be NO CHARGE.

  • Please remember we are operating a business and this is our livelihood.

  • All Charter Costs must be settled on or before the day of the Charter.

  • Offshore Trolling: (10hrs-35 to 60 miles offshore) $1200 or (8hrs 25-50 miles offshore) $950.  Any Bill Fish caught will photographed and released, no exceptions. Unless you catch a WORLD RECORD!  We can do a 6 hour  trip and the cost would be $700.

  • Deep Drop Fishing: Trips of 10hrs $1100 in deep water for special species. This is with electric reels. We can only operate two reels at a time. The sea has to be calm to do this.

(Deep drop fishing) as the name implies is performed in deep water (250 -800 feet) and is usually performed with an electric fishing reel along with a stand up stick type rod and is used from a rod holder mounted on the gunnels of the boat. Only one rod at a time can be fished when fishing on the bottom from 250 to 800 feet deep as two lines would constantly be getting tangled up. If you are fishing for world records you have to use a manual reel as electric reels do not count. This is hard work as we use leads from 2 lbs. up to 6 lbs. End tackle is a multi hook rig using circle hooks and we prefer braid line as it does not stretch. Typical baits used are pieces of cut fish and squid. PLEASE NOTE: The weather has to be relatively calm for this type of fishing.

All of the fish captured in deep drop fishing normally have some sort of regulations affecting them so bag limits are usually in order. Check out the species for further information.

Only 2 anglers can fish at any one time and only one person deep drops. Obviously up to six persons can be carried and a rotation can be performed.

  • Sword Fishing: Usually we only do this by day as I love my bed. You need patience and the day may be blank. We start by trolling out to the swordfish grounds which takes around 3 hrs and we are looking for Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo or Sailfish, among other species. This is followed by a 4hr Swordfish drop in deep water locations. We use electric reels for this part of the trip. When hooked the fight can be awesome. Maximum number of anglers is four.

  • Scattering of Ashes:........up to six persons $250......late afternoons/evenings only (From 4.30pm onwards) We can organize a second vessel at a further $250.

  • Loan Closings: This is accomplished in International Waters at a cost of $250.

  • FISHING LICENSES:  ALL LICENSES ARE INCLUDED IN CHARTER COST.  Our Vessel also has the necessary Reef & Pelagic Permits required by the N.O.A.A fisheries for the Atlantic Coast.

  • We fillet and clean your fish at the end of the day and pack in a zip-loc bag with ice for your homeward journey.

  • "ELECTRIC BLUE"- Will depart from our Private Dock near the Donald Ross Bridge.

All Charter Costs must be settled on or before the day of the Charter.

  • SHARK FISHING: Shark Fishing on Electric Blue is strictly Catch & Release. We photograph your catch and will supply you with the images after your trip.

  • INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY CRUISES: We are able to offer Intra Coastal Waterway Cruises specifically going where you request. These are usually 4 hrs in length but can be longer if required. The cost would be $250 for 4 hrs for 6 persons, or $50 extra per hour.

  • We also ask that all cell phones be stowed once we leave the dock. We have seen to many lost. Some only one day old.

  • We provide filleting services back at the dock.

TRIP TIPS

  • IMPORTANT: Please bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap/hat.

  • Wear Boat or Tennis Shoes.

  • No black soles please. They mark the boat deck.
  • Bring camera/camcorder as we will probably see Dolphins and also to photograph your catch should you want to release it. Fish always look better in photographs immediately they are captured.
